Accredited Gap Year Consultants have passed GYA’s robust accreditation review process by demonstrating expertise in advising gap year students and families, vetting programs and community-based organizations, managing risk, committing to equity and access, and more.
This membership category requires:
- Current GYA membership as an Independent Educational Gap Year Consultant
- Successful completion of GYA’s Accreditation review process for Gap Year Consultants
- Demonstrated coaching of and referrals for at least 125 gap year students
- Co-membership with NACAC, IECA, and/or HECA
- Demonstration of ongoing professional development, including but not limited to attendance at the Gap Year Conference and/or service on a GYA committee
- Demonstration of proper insurance and registration
- A commitment to accessibility through need-based discounts on services
Membership benefits for Accredited Gap Year Consultants include:

- Attributed photos in GYA publications

$300/year + $100/year for each additional consultant within the same organization.
